Dell Boys Construction, LLC proudly serves customers throughout Northeast Montana and surrounding communities. If you're outside our normal service area, contact us and we'll determine whether we can accommodate your project.

What types of construction work do you do?

We provide general contracting and construction services. Our services can include remodeling, additions, doors and windows, repairs, decks, new construction, and other projects depending on the scope of work.

How do I get started on a project?

The first step is to contact us for a consultation and estimate. We'll discuss your project, evaluate the scope of work, and determine what will be needed to complete it.

Estimates & Pricing

How do you determine the price of a project?

Every project is different. Pricing may be based on the scope of work, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, travel, site conditions, project complexity, and other requirements.

We provide estimates based on the information available at the time of estimating.

Is my estimate the final price?

An estimate is based on the known scope and conditions of the project. If the scope of work changes or unforeseen conditions are discovered, additional work may require a written change order or additional authorization.

Do you charge for travel or mobilization?

Travel and mobilization charges may apply depending on the location and requirements of the project.

Projects requiring significant travel, equipment transportation, material pickup, or additional mobilization may incur additional charges. These charges will be communicated as applicable.

Why might my project cost more than an hourly labor rate?

Construction projects involve more than just the time spent physically working on the job. Project costs can include materials, equipment, transportation, insurance, administrative costs, subcontractors, project management, mobilization, and other expenses necessary to complete the work properly.

Deposits & Payments

Do you require a deposit?

A deposit may be required before work begins. Deposit requirements can vary depending on the size and scope of the project, material requirements, special-order materials, and other project considerations.

Any required deposit will be outlined in the project agreement or estimate.

When is the remaining balance due?

Payment terms will be established in the written agreement, estimate, invoice, or other project documentation.

Larger projects may have progress payments based on project milestones.

Do special-order materials require payment in advance?

Certain custom, special-order, or non-returnable materials may require payment before they are ordered.

We will communicate applicable material requirements before placing the order.

Change Orders

What happens if I want to add something to my project?

Any work outside the original scope may require a change order.

A change order may include additional labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, travel, or other expenses associated with the additional work.

Can I make changes after the project has started?

Yes. We understand that project needs can change.

However, changes may affect the project price and completion schedule. Additional work should be authorized before it is performed whenever reasonably possible.

What if I verbally approve additional work?

For everyone's protection, Dell Boys Construction prefers to document changes in writing whenever possible.

Verbal approvals may be documented in the project records, but written change-order authorization is preferred.

Emergency & After-Hours Service

Do you offer emergency construction services?

Emergency and urgent service may be available depending on the situation, availability, and type of work required.

Do emergency calls cost more?

Emergency service may be subject to additional emergency service rates and/or minimum service charges.

The applicable rate or charge will be communicated before work is performed whenever reasonably possible.

Do you charge an after-hours rate?

Work requested outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be subject to an additional after-hours service rate.

Customers will be informed of applicable charges before after-hours work is performed whenever reasonably possible.

Project Scheduling

How Our Scheduling Works.

We’re glad to look at your project and provide an estimate whenever we can. Once you approve an estimate, we put your project in line based on the date your estimate was approved.

We believe in being fair to every customer, so we generally work through approved projects in the order they come in. Some projects may take longer than others, and weather, materials, subcontractors, and other circumstances can affect the schedule.

We’ll do our best to give you an honest idea of when we can get started and keep you informed along the way. Your approved project holds your place in line, but a specific start date is only guaranteed once we’ve confirmed it with you.

How soon can you start my project?

Start dates depend on our current schedule, project size, material availability, subcontractor availability, weather, and other factors.

We will provide an anticipated start date or scheduling window when the project is scheduled.

How long will my project take?

Project timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of the project, materials, weather, inspections, subcontractors, changes to the scope, and unforeseen conditions.

We will communicate the expected timeline as accurately as possible.

Can weather delay my project?

Yes. Weather and site conditions can affect construction schedules, particularly for exterior work.

Safety and quality come first, and we may need to adjust the schedule when conditions make work unsafe or impractical.

Materials & Subcontractors

Who purchases the materials?

Material purchasing depends on the project and the terms of the agreement.

Dell Boys Construction may purchase and coordinate materials on behalf of the customer, or the customer may provide certain materials when agreed upon in advance.

Can I purchase my own materials?

Customer-supplied materials may be permitted depending on the project.

However, customers should discuss this with us before purchasing materials. Incorrect, damaged, incompatible, or delayed materials can affect the cost and schedule of a project.

Do you work with subcontractors?

Yes. Depending on the project, specialized trades or subcontractors may be used when appropriate.

Dell Boys Construction coordinates the work as part of the overall project when subcontractors are included in the project scope.

Construction & Job Site Questions

Will you clean up after the project?

We strive to leave the work area reasonably clean and orderly upon completion. The specific level of cleanup will depend on the project and will be addressed as part of the project scope.

What happens if you discover an unexpected problem?

Construction can sometimes uncover conditions that could not reasonably be identified before work began.

If an unforeseen condition requires additional work or materials, we will communicate the issue and discuss the available options before proceeding with additional work whenever reasonably possible.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Permit and inspection requirements vary by project and jurisdiction.

When applicable, responsibility for permits and inspections will be discussed during the estimating and contracting process.
